Our story
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we’ve focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.It all started when Josh was given his first video camera by his mum after graduating school. While training at a local gym, he was asked if he could put together a video for them after they noticed his passion for filming in his spare time. He gave it a go, they loved the result, and not long after, his footage found its way into a television campaign.When it came time to send his first invoice, Josh was asked if he had an ABN. At 17, he had no idea what one was. After Sue explained it to him, he woke up one morning with the name Shoutout Films in his head, registered the business and got his first ABN. Just like that, Shoutout Films officially had a name.
That first opportunity
showed Josh that something he genuinely enjoyed doing could become something more. He invested in better equipment, began picking up subcontracting work and grew Shoutout Films organically through word of mouth and repeat clients.Since then, what started with one camera and an opportunity has grown into work across business, automotive, weddings, real estate and much more - from local productions to a documentary for the public health sector, and projects that have taken us across Australia and overseas to India, Indonesia and Japan.
Our Mission
For Josh and Sue, it’s always been about doing work we genuinely enjoy with people who value what we create. We take the time to understand each project, explore the ideas behind it and create something with purpose.We’re proud of where Shoutout Films has taken us so far, and even more excited about where it goes next. ShoutOut Films gets an enormous thumbs up from me.
We engaged Josh to shoot a video for
the sale of our house and he delivered a stunning result.
